Re: The Twinkie Curtain Descends

Mark, that explains the cryptically satisfied smiles I experienced all throughout Halifax this past weekend. I will never believe the hype that my Canadian friends are just happy folk up in the Great North. No, they knew I was heading back to a Wonder-less U.S., and said nothing to indicate I should throw away my clothes and stuff my bags full of Hostess delights. I still think the loss of Wonder Bread is a far greater blow to American self-identity than is the demise of the Twinkie, but I now understand just a bit better the Hobbesian view of the world as a nasty, brutal place.
