America Actually Isn’t Totally Down with Free Health Care

Text

In a poll with less-than-optimal timing, Gallup tells us that, for the first time since 2000, Americans don’t think free health care is in the federal government’s purview. When asked “Do you think it is the responsibility of the federal government to make sure all Americans have healthcare coverage, or is that not the responsibility of the federal government?” 54 percent of responders said it wasn’t the government’s responsibility, and 44 percent said it was. Good job figuring that out right after you had a chance to vote on it, guys.
