A Tale of Two Campaigns

by Peter Robinson

Today on Uncommon Knowledge, AEI scholar and National Review Online founding editor Jonah Goldberg and National Review’s Editor At Large John O’Sullivan evaluate the campaigns.

“Barack Obama was the first guy to come along who first of all ran as an unapologetic liberal and never pivoted back to the center. It was because of the exhaustion with George Bush. It was because of the financial crisis. It was because John McCain was not a great candidate either. And along comes Mitt Romney who has got this theory of the race that takes none of that into account and then basically says, if we can just convince the six million people who voted, we think we can get them to vote for us now who voted for Barack Obama last time, we win. We now know they did not even really care about trying to get the people who voted for John McCain last time.”
