Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner told Chris Wallace this morning on Fox News Sunday that his plan to avert the fiscal cliff, which he took to GOP lawmakers on Thursday, represents a “balanced” approach to the problem. 

Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell said he “burst into laughter” when he heard Geithner’s proposal, while House Speaker John Boehner said it left him “flabbergasted.”
