Re: Senator Inouye

Text

In 2000, Senator Inouye finally received a Congressional Medal of Honor for his WWII heroics, along with 22 other Asian-American veterans of that conflict. The 442nd Regimental Combat Team, which was composed primarily of Japanese Americans, remains the most decorated infantry regiment in the U.S. Army. Those who knew Senator Inouye’s quiet and self-effacing demeanor later in life might find it hard to believe what a fierce warrior he was when it counted the most. A good AP obituary can be found here.
