Journalists and Entertainers Take to Twitter to Bash Pope
Days like these can be the most revealing. Rather than reflect on Pope Benedict XVI’s time in the Vatican, liberals have been quick to take cheap shots at him just hours after news of his resignation broke, exposing their intolerance. CNN, MSNBC, and Washington Post pundits were among those voices:
The Queen’s a year older than The Pope. Can’t see her ever resigning because she’s tired. #indefatigability1infallibility0

Pope Benedict, following Sarah Palin’s lead, resigns. ow.ly/hBDsg

Piers Morgan didn’t stop there though, wondering if there were more scandalous reasons for the Pope’s decision.
As a Catholic, I’m not buying this. Popes don’t just quit because they’re tired. What’s going on here??

Liberal entertainers and comedians jumped in on the tasteless bashing too:
Pope aborted by church.

The Pope must have done something even the Church finds unacceptable. I’m guessing he’s shagged an adult woman.

Echoing the sentiments of opinion-makers and celebrities, the Twitterverse was full of more revolting tweets:
So for the 1st time in 600 years, @god fires a pope. Couldn’t pick a better man to fire. Markets up? nyti.ms/14NjN77#hitleryouth

Hey, @pontifex: why don’t you die like every guy before you.
