A scandal involving allegations of “inappropriate” behavior has forced out Keith Cardinal O’Brien. This impending conclave has brought out a lot of issues, and maybe some good will come out of all this ugliness.

This brings the number of voters in the conclave down to 115 — the same number as voted in the election of 2005. (Roger Cardinal Mahony of Los Angeles is still expected to vote.)
