Dark-Money Group Runs Obama Twitter Account

Earlier today, White House press secretary Jay Carney struggled to fend off reporters’ questions about a New York Times story on Organizing for Action (OFA), the dark-money advocacy group spun off from the Obama campaign apparatus that is reportedly offering donors “the privilege of attending quarterly meetings with the president” in exchange for contribution of $500,000 or more.

Carney’s insistence that OFA is a “separate” and “independent” organization that is simply “supporting an agenda” is complicated by the fact that OFA currently operates the official @BarackObama Twitter account, which notes that “Tweets from the President are signed –bo.”
