Poll: Majority in U.S. Think Sequestration Will Hurt Economy, Republicans More Worried Than Democrats

Gallup released a poll today finding that 56 percent of Americans believe the nation’s economy will suffer if sequestration goes into effect on Friday. Republicans and independents are more likely than Democrats to believe that sequestration will harm both the nation’s economy and their own personal finances. This result is fairly surprising given that, according to Gallup, Republicans across the country recently seemed more willing than Democrats to allow sequestration to go into effect.
