After hearing Attorney General Eric Holder’s response to his filibuster’s central question read to him on the air, Rand Paul was delighted with his answer but wondered, “Why did it take so long?”
Although Paul said his office had yet to receive the letter addressed to him, Holder wrote to the Kentucky senator to say that the president does not have the authority to order drone-strikes on an American on American soil who is not engaged in combat. “For 13 hours yesterday, we asked him that question,” Paul said, “so there is a result and a victory. Under duress and under public humiliation, the White House will respond and do the right thing.”
The one and only.
