Cain to Huddle with Jeb Bush

by Robert Costa

Herman Cain, a former Republican presidential candidate, is returning to the national political scene.

Next month, Cain will cohost a private retreat in Palm Beach, Fla., for business leaders and Republican power brokers. Former Florida governor Jeb Bush is slated to attend.

According to sources, the former chief executive officer of Godfather’s Pizza will lead discussions on free enterprise. Bush is expected to speak on education reform.

The theme of the closed-press gathering is economic growth, and Cain’s latest ventures, Job Creators Alliance (JCA) and Job Creators Network (JCN), are sponsoring the summit, which will be held April 11-12 at the PGA National Resort and Spa. Cain recently founded JCN with Bernie Marcus, a co-founder of Home Depot.

Former Jimmy Carter adviser Pat Caddell, GOP pollster Kellyanne Conway, Weekly Standard executive editor Fred Barnes, and Wall Street Journal writer Stephen Moore will also appear.

Cain, who once surged to the top of 2012 primary polls, remains a popular figure in conservative circles, and this event is partly a reintroduction to the CEOs and politicians who supported his ascent.

These days, Cain is based in Atlanta and works as a Fox News contributor and talk-show host. But he still works closely with his former campaign advisers Mark Block and Linda Hansen. David Tille, a former strategist for several presidential campaigns, joined Cain’s operation earlier this year.
