Rubio: Heritage’s Cost Concerns ‘Not Accurate’

Text

Senator Marco Rubio says the Heritage Foundation’s take on the potential costs of immigration reform is “not true” and “not accurate.”

“We don’t have a bill, so I don’t think they’ve issued an analysis on this yet, but that’s not true,” he said, when asked about the criticisms by Heritage and other conservative groups. “Under this plan, not only do you not qualify for any federal benefits while you’re in the legal status, but under existing law, you don’t qualify for any federal benefits during the first five years on a green card, either.”

“The bottom line is, that’s just not accurate,” Rubio told Chris Wallace.
