Kerry’s ‘Sweet Adeline’ Gaffe Sparks Twitter Mockery

John Kerry, formerly a longtime Massachusetts senator, flubbed one of the Boston Red Sox’s richest traditions when he referred to the song that plays at Fenway Park every game as “Sweet Adeline” instead of “Sweet Caroline.” The Twitterverse took notice.

Others were reminded of Kerry’s previous sports blunders.

Some provided an explanation for why Kerry may have misspoke.

After leaving the hearing, Kerry acknowledged his slipup and assured Boston fans that he knows it is, in fact, “Sweet Caroline.”
