Morning Joe Panelist: NRA ‘Inciting a Riot’

While discussing this weekend’s National Rifle Association convention in Houston, Morning Joe panelist Mike Barnicle this morning criticized the rhetoric of the group’s vice president, Wayne LaPierre.

During his speech, LaPierre suggested that Boston-area residents wished they had had guns to protect themselves during last month’s manhunt for the Marathon bombers, but Barnicle challenged that notion. “No one in Watertown or Boston or Cambridge was sitting behind their doors frightened as Wayne LaPierre points out,” he said. “He is the frightened citizen. He is frightened of losing what power he has.”

Later in the segment, Barnicle also accused LaPierre of “inciting a riot.”
