Sanford Wins Special Election

Charleston, S.C. — Earlier tonight, in front of a packed crowd of volunteers, supporters, and members of the press, former South Carolina governor Mark Sanford accepted victory in a race that ended up being far less tight than most predicted. Sanford won by nine percentage points, 54 percent to 45 percent, according to the Associated Press. He beat Democrat Elizabeth Colbert Busch.
