Congressman: House Immigration Group Sets Thursday Deadline for Bipartisan Bill


Representative John Carter, a Texas Republican, told reporters today that the House’s secretive bipartisan immigration group is meeting one final time on Thursday night. If they can’t come to an agreement by then, he may introduce his own Republican bill. In an interview at the Capitol, he also expressed displeasure with Representative Xavier Becerra, a top Democrat in the working group, for talking with the press about their deliberations.
