McConnell Bugger Still Hasn’t Been Charged
Nearly two weeks after admitting to secretly recording Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell at his campaign headquarters, liberal activist Curtis Morrison has yet to be charged, and federal authorities won’t say if he is being prosecuted.
An FBI spokesman told ABC News in early April that the case was under investigation, but the bureau has declined to comment further.
In an “exclusive” guest column for Salon — “Why I secretly recorded Mitch McConnell” — Morrison wrote that an assistant U.S. attorney told him a grand jury planned to present charges on June 7. Apparently that never happened, as Morrison tweeted the day of the scheduled meeting: ”Update: US Attorney cancelled today’s mtg w/my attorney & we don’t why. Supposed to find out nxt week.”
In the meantime, Morrison is still accepting donations to his legal defense fund.
