Rove: Snowden Told Us Nothing New, But ‘I Want Him Prosecuted’


The Fox News Sunday panel this morning agreed that the programs revealed by NSA leaker Edward Snowden — the agency’s collection of phone-records data — were already fairly well-known and reported in the media before the recent leak, but former Bush adviser Karl Rove still wants him tried for disclosing the classified information. “I want him prosecuted,” Rove said, “but this guy is a minor player.”

“Both programs” — the NSA’s monitoring of telephone data and social media — “were largely described to the public in the past,” Rove said.
