CNN’s signature debate show will return to the network this fall after an eight-year hiatus.
The new version of Crossfire is set to feature a panel of former Speaker Newt Gingrich and conservative commentator S. E. Cupp, as well as two former Obama advisers: former Obama deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter and former green-jobs “czar” Van Jones. CNN will announce the show’s time slot later this summer.
After a 23-year run, Crossfire went off the air in 2005. James Carville, Pat Buchanan, Paul Begala, and John Sununu, among others served as panelists during that time.
In other CNN-related news, TVNewser reports that former anchor Soledad O’Brein is in talks with Al Jazeera English.
