“We’re fighting the liberal war on women one free shotgun at a time,” Kyle Coplen, founder and executive director of the Armed Citizen Project, told me when we chatted last month. Now ACP is taking the counterattack national.
The organization, which trains and arms single women and citizens in high-crime neighborhoods with free pump-action shotguns, has announced a “National Empowerment Day” on August 10. It will team up with shooting ranges and gun clubs to train and arm 500 mothers and single women across the country. Coplen says the effort will help combat “the subtle misogynistic nature of the anti-gun lobby.”
