University of Denver to Give Global Service Award to Bush After Withdrawing Another Award

After caving to protests by students and faculty, the University of Denver scrapped its plans to honor President George W. Bush with the Improving the Human Condition Award. But now, the Washington Times reported yesterday, the university has selected a different award to present to George W. Bush at the September event he was scheduled to attend:

DU spokeswoman Kim DeVigil said Wednesday that Mr. Bush would receive the Global Service Award “for his service to our nation, his leadership as 43rd president of the United States, as well as his remarkable work in Africa, both during his presidency and in his post-presidency.”
