Grassley: On Immigration, House Republicans ‘Don’t Know Where the Next Move Is’
House Republicans know they don’t support the Senate’s immigration-reform bill, but they’re less certain on where to go next, according to one of their Senate peers.
“I had a meeting with House leaders Monday,” Iowa’s Chuck Grassley said on Fox Business Network this afternoon, “and, quite frankly, I think they would be candid with you that they don’t know where the next move is.”
Grassley was glad to see the House wasn’t going to pass the Senate version, which he voted against. As for the House’s piece-by-piece approach on immigration, he said the legislation “is still up in the air.”
