McConnell Bashes Reid Again: Could be Remembered as ‘Worst Leader of the Senate Ever’

by Andrew Johnson

Mitch McConnell foresees another blow to Harry Reid’s legacy if the Senate majority leader moves forward with changing the filibuster rules. “If we don’t pull back from the brink here, my friend the majority leader is going to be remembered as the worst leader of the Senate ever,” McConnell said on the floor this afternoon.

The Senate minority leader called Democrats’ sudden sense of urgency to change the 60-vote threshold a “manufactured” crisis. ”My members are angry, but I’m more sad about it,” he lamented.

The Kentucky senator’s campaign also tweeted a picture of what McConnell predicted Reid’s tombstone would read if he moves forward with the changes.
