Pro-Life Reid Sidesteps Questions About 20-Week Abortion Ban

by Andrew Johnson

Harry Reid, one of the few Senate Democrats who identify as pro-life, tried to skirt questions about a ban on abortions after 20 weeks on Meet the Press. When first asked about the ban, Reid immediately resorted to a transportation-infrastructure bill from last year before David Gregory had to steer him back to the question at hand.

Reid decried lawmakers for “worrying about fringe issues” rather than focusing on other matters. “I’m happy to take a look at this,” he finally responded when asked about whether the ban is reasonable before clarifying other there are other issues to prioritize.
