Obama: ‘Trayvon Martin Could’ve Been Me’

by Will Allen

In his press conference this afternoon, President Barack Obama compared himself to Trayvon Martin: “You know when Trayvon Martin was first shot, I said that this could could have been my son.  Another way of saying that is, that Trayvon Martin could’ve been me, 35 years ago.”

President Obama appeared at the conference to comment specifically on the verdict in the trial of George Zimmerman, and “talk a little about context and how people have responded to it, and how people are feeling.”
