Food-Stamp Usage in Georgia Has Nearly Doubled Since 2007

The number of Georgians receiving food stamps has almost doubled since 2007, according to the Associated Press, making Georgia the state with the sixth-highest proportion of food-stamp recipients up from the 15th-highest.   

The AP cites the Atlanta Journal-Constitution (the article is behind a pay wall), and reports that Georgia is “still hundreds of thousands of jobs below its pre-recession levels” with approximately 58 percent of working-age recipients employed.
