Another Dem Rips Obamacare: WH Has Been ‘Terribly Inefficient’

Text

One of Obamacare’s biggest supporters had harsh words for the White House’s efforts to help congressional Democrats defend and implement Obamacare.

“They make a good talk about what they’re going to do, but the White House has been terribly inefficient in dealing with the promotion of their bill,” Representative Jim McDermott of Washington said.

White House chief of staff Denis McDonough has reportedly been urging Democrats on Capitol Hill not to lose faith on Obamacare, but McDermott, the ranking member of the subcommittee tasked with the law’s implementation, says he’s never met him.

“Don’t know who he is,” a frustrated McDermott said on C-SPAN this morning. “If he were sitting here in this room, I would not know him.”

He went so far as to blame the result of the 2010 midterms on the administration’s handling of Obamacare. McDermott said the White House “sat quietly” after the law’s passing “after we went to bat for this bill,” allowing Republicans to retake the House in the biggest wave election in 70 years.

McDermott ensured viewers that the law will continue to be implemented, but warned, “we’re going to have problems between here and the beginning.”
