Support for Snowden Drops

by Andrew Johnson

As Edward Snowden looks to make his next move, the public sentiment about him has moved as well in the last month, and not in the direction Snowden would hope.

A new Washington Post-ABC News survey finds that a majority of Americans (53 percent) support charging Snowden with a crime for leaking confidential government information regarding the NSA, up ten points from a poll the group took in June. The share of people who feel Snowden should not be charged has seen an even bigger change, dropping from 48 percent last month to 36.
