Krauthammer’s Take: ‘This Administration Has No Idea What It’s Doing in Egypt’

Commenting on a poll finding that more Americans believe that America is “losing some of its standing in the world,” Charles Krauthammer said, “One of the reasons is the kind of cluelessness” demonstrated by the White House’s decision to postpone delivery of F-16 fighter jets to the Egyptian military.

The syndicated columnist castigated the Obama White House for its response to the serial upheavals in Egypt, saying, “This administration has no idea what’s it’s doing in Egypt. . . . the only hope for a good outcome in Egypt is supporting the interim government, and what does the administration do? Send a signal it’s not happy; send a signal that the [Muslim] Brotherhood elite has a measure of support. Stupid mistake.”
