The Obama administration’s indirectness regarding the NSA scandal “cemented Obama as just another Washington politician, defending the status quo,” Chuck Todd told Laura Ingraham on her radio show today. But the president hasn’t only “taken a hit” from his supporters because of his lack of clarity on these types of issues, but has frustrated the press as well.
“This is a very controlling West Wing when it comes to press access,” Todd said. “It’s been three and half years since he’s sat down with a Washington correspondent from a major network. He won’t do it.”
He also revealed that the administration won’t allow high-ranking officials, such as Cabinet secretaries, to appear on the Sunday morning talk shows.
