Sarah Palin is calling on Fox News’ Chris Wallace to name the Republicans who approached him, unsolicited, with opposition research on Ted Cruz in advance of Cruz’s appearance on Fox News Sunday. After Wallace admitted to being shocked by their actions, Palin took to Twitter, imploring him to “Keep it truly fair and balanced” and “release the GOP named encouraging you to trash Senator Ted Cruz.”
In an appearance on Fox News that afternoon, the former Alaska governor denounced “GOP elephants that would actually turn on a senator who is fulfilling his campaign promises.” Cruz, who is leading the battle to pass a bill that would defund Obamacare, has come under fire recently from his fellow Republicans. Palin added, “My dad — who is a science teacher, a natural history teacher — dad, if you’re watching this morning, if you’re out of moose camp already and you’re home, you are a teacher and you never told me that elephants were cannibalistic.”
This isn’t the first time Palin has come to Cruz’s defense; on Saturday, she penned an op-ed defending Cruz and decrying “the ‘anonymous sources’ backstabbing game.”
“We can compare shiv marks next time we meet, my friend,” she wrote.
