GOP Rep. Calls for Clean CR
The tide has turned for one House Republican on the continuing-resolution negotiations. Representative Scott Rigell of Virginia called on his Republican colleagues to pass a “clean CR” in order to end the government shutdown.
Rigell voted with House Republicans last night prior to the shutdown going into effect, but had previously taken issue with the party’s strategy. Last week, he voted against the bill to defund Obamacare because it kept sequester-level spending in place, including cuts to defense, an issue for him because of the military presence in his district.
