White House Blames Congress for Any Problems with Its Website

by Sterling Beard

The White House website has a pair of new warnings blaming Congress for any difficulty visitors might encounter while browsing.

The first warning blocks out the rest of the page and tells readers that “Due to Congress’s failure to pass legislation to fund the government,” information found on the site may be out of date, some submissions “may not be processed,” and readers may not receive responses to their inquiries.

After clicking through to the rest of the site, which is still functional, viewers are presented with the option to learn more about the government shutdown.

Clicking the link takes readers to the official White House blog, which summarizes President Obama’s remarks on the shutdown from yesterday afternoon. Other pages, such as the live streaming page, appear to be up to date.
