Rick Shaftan, an internal pollster for the Steve Lonegan Senate campaign, reports that Lonegan is now only three points behind Booker at 47 percent to 44 percent, according to Save Jersey. Just two days ago, internal polling had Lonegan behind six points.
Lonegan began the campaign over 20 points behind Booker, but Booker’s lead has been slowly diminishing amidst continuing bad press, including National Review reports showing he’d exaggerated or fabricated stories on the stump for dramatic effect.
The special election is on October 16, and if Lonegan’s internal polling is correct, a race that Booker thought he had already won is shaping up to be a close one.
The one and only.
