Activists Stage ‘Die-In’ in Opposition of Ohio ‘Stand Your Ground’ Bill
Hundreds of protestors sprawled across the grounds of the Ohio Statehouse earlier this week as part of a “die-in” demonstration against a proposed “Stand Your Ground” bill in the state. “Stand Your Ground” laws have gained national attention over the past year since the shooting death of Florida teenager Trayvon Martin.
Critics of the law claim that it endangers minorities and hoped that the “die-in” protest would make the public aware of the deaths that could be caused due to the law.
After George Zimmerman’s acquittal in Martin’s death over the summer, one group released a PSA showing a recreation of the night of his death.
