Wasserman Schultz: Women Could End Shutdown in ‘A Few Hours’

by Andrew Johnson

Florida congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz offered her solution to ending the government shutdown and addressing the imminent approach of the debt ceiling: Leave it up to women.

“If we put all the women, Republicans and Democrats in the House together, the consensus is that all of us is that we would get this done in a few hours,” she told MSNBC on Monday. According to the Democratic National Committee chair, women usually “prefer to hang back” and cling less to their viewpoints, making them more willing to compromise.
