Pat Roberts Calls on Sebelius to Resign

by Andrew Johnson

Senator Pat Roberts (R., Kan.) has called on Health and Human Services secretary Kathleen Sebelius to step down over the problems with Obamacare’s online exchanges. He criticized her department’s “gross incompetence” in handling the website’s rollout earlier this month.

“Enough is enough,” Roberts said in a video released on his campaign website over the weekend. “Secretary Sebelius has had three and a half years to launch Obamacare and she has failed,” he said, calling the flaws with the federal website ”systematic, profound, and indisputable.”

Roberts’ remarks about his fellow Kansan (Sebelius served as the state’s governor prior to her post at HHS) come days after the announcement of news broke that he will face a primary challenger, tea-partier Milton Wolf. The senator is up for reelection in 2014.
