If you needed any reminder that there is more to politics than the shutdown and that the next presidential election is in full gear for some: Hillary Clinton has reportedly been talking about how Joe Biden was not an advocate of the raid that killed Osama bin Laden. According to a Georgian pol in attendance, during an off-the-record session at the National Association of Convenience Stores convention, Clinton was asked about the raid:
“… She took 25 minutes to answer,” Taylor said. “Without turning the knife too deeply, she put it to [Vice President Joe] Biden.”
Time and time again, Taylor said, Clinton mentioned the vice president’s opposition to the raid, while characterizing herself and Leon Panetta, then director of the Central Intelligence Agency, as the action’s most fierce advocates.
The one and only.
