According to a New York Daily News report, Senator Tom Coburn (R., Okla.) is not a big fan of Senator Harry Reid. While attending a gala for the New York Young Republicans Club on Monday night, Coburn spoke about civility in the Senate and working with Democrats.
Though Coburn talked about his “great relationship” with Senator Chuck Schumer (D., N.Y.), he said that “there’s no comity with Harry Reid. I think he’s an absolute a**hole.”
Earlier this year, Coburn blamed Reid for gridlock in Congress, calling the senator from Nevada “incompetent and incapable of carrying leadership in the Senate.” Coburn later apologized for his comment.
Reid’s office responded on Tuesday morning to Coburn’s most recent comment saying, “Nothing says ‘comity’ like childish playground name-calling, especially from a senator who has not sponsored a single piece of successful bipartisan legislation during his entire Senate career.”
