The White House is nervous about the future of President Obama’s signature health-care legislation and hunkering down, according to Chuck Todd.
“I feel like they’re in a bunker mentality right now,” he said on Morning Joe on Wednesday morning. “Ultimately, I think they think they’re entire second term is going to be judged on the implementation of health care.”
Todd suggested that the administration’s reluctance to admit problems with the website, as well as the law itself, has lead to “overpromising” and raised expectations, which have ultimately damaged its credibility. “They were so worried about the image and the spin that they created they’re own PR problem — this problem they’re dealing with right now is of their own making,” he said.
