Dem. Sen.: Signing Up under Obamacare ‘Really Confusing’

Text

Signing up for insurance under the Affordable Care Act is proving to be too confusing, according to Senator Barbara Mikulski, who urged Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services administrator Marilyn Tavenner to improve the exchange websites and the availability of information on the requirements of the law. The Maryland Democrat took particular issue with the difficulties those with limited Internet literacy faced in finding out about the law or how to search for insurance plans.

“I’m going to be blunt. . . . I think it’s very confusing,” Mikulski said at today’s Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee hearing. “We hear about the navigators and the this and that, but I can tell you, people really don’t know — people really, really don’t know.”
