Hawaii Has Spent Over $750,000 Per Obamacare Sign-up

by Sterling Beard

A month and a half after the official health-care exchange launch on October 1, Hawaii has succeeded in signing up only 257 people.

Implementing Obamacare in Hawaii has cost $200 million, $53 million alone on the state’s exchange website, Hawaii Health Connector. As the Hawaii Reporter notes, the numbers work out to a little over $778,000 per sign-up.

The Aloha State was the last to launch its own exchange. Technical issues kept the website from functioning for more than two weeks after October 1.
