George W. Bush Writes Consoling Letter to University of Alabama Kicker

Text

President George W. Bush wrote to University of Alabama kicker Cade Foster, offering some consoling words after the senior missed two field goals and had another blocked in the Iron Bowl against Auburn University.

“Life has its setbacks. I know!” the 43rd president wrote after addressing Foster by his uniform number, which is also 43.

“However, you will be a stronger human with time,” Bush wrote. “I wish you all the best.”

Foster is from Southlake, Texas, about a 30 minute drive from President Bush’s residence in the Dallas neighborhood of Preston Hollow.
