Dennis Rodman Sings Happy Birthday to Kim Jong Un

by Alec Torres

Dennis Rodman kicked off his “basketball diplomacy” with North Korea by singing “Happy Birthday” to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un before leading his team of former NBA players on the court. Rodman dedicated the game to his “best friend” Kim, who was watching with North Korean leaders and a crowd of about 14,000 at the Pyongyang Indoor Stadium.

Earlier this week, Rodman exploded on CNN when questioned about his trip to the totalitarian nation, at one point insinuating that the captive American missionary in North Korea, Kenneth Bae, was to blame for his imprisonment.
