On Meet the Press, Rudy Giuliani told David Gregory that the bridge scandal could end up burnishing New Jersey governor Chris Christie’s 2016 prospects.
“The fact is, things go wrong, things will go wrong if he or Hillary Clinton become president,” the former mayor explained. “Question is, how are they going to handle it? He’s given a textbook case in how to handle it. Stand up, answer questions, hold people accountable, make sure it doesn’t happen again.”
He added that the test of time is the only way to know who will run in 2016 — and that he preferred not to remind Gregory of his competitors for the 2008 Republican presidential nomination.
