Did David Wildstein Cut the Lunch Line in the Fifth Grade?

Text

For all I know, David Wildstein is completely full of it, but the Christie team yesterday sent out a parodic e-mail attacking him that was worthy of a down-and-dirty student-council election. Here are some of the counts against Wildstein according to the e-mail:

As a 16-year-old kid, he sued over a local school-board election.
He was publicly accused by his high-school social-studies teacher of deceptive behavior.
He had a controversial tenure as mayor of Livingston.
He was an anonymous blogger known as Wally Edge.
He had a strange habit of registering Web addresses for other people’s names without telling them.

It may be that a year from now, if Bridgegate and everything associated with it fizzle out, Christie will come out of this looking like a bit of a martyr. But I assume his plan was to run for president as a George W. Bush–style “uniter not a divider,” in which case, unloading in this absurdly over-the-top manner on his former associates is going to carry a political cost.
