Matthews: Concerns over Obama’s Executive Actions are ‘Second-Term Birtherism’
For Chris Matthews, congressional Republicans’ questions about President Obama’s use of executive actions are akin to questions about the president’s birth certificate.
“I think it’s a second-term birtherism — he was illegitimately elected, now he’s behaving illegitimately,” Matthews said on Friday. “They want to put an asterisk next to this guy; he really wasn’t a law-abiding or even legitimately elected president.”
During last week’s State of the Union, President Obama said he would move forward “with or without Congress” and exercise his executive authority when possible.
