From looking at this graph, Obama’s standing in the polls seems to have leveled off after declining throughout 2013. On September 10, his net approval rating in the Huffington Post average (with moderate smoothing) was -6.7 percent. It fell another 1.5 points to October 9, another 1.2 to November 10, another 0.3 to December 9, and another 0.3 to January 11 — at which time he had 42.4 percent approval and 52.4 percent disapproval. That’s exactly where it stands today. My guess is that Obama is now pretty close to his base level of support.
