Pussy Riot Members Attacked at McDonald’s

by Alec Torres

Two members of Pussy Riot along with some of their crew were attacked with pepper spray and green disinfectant while the group was at a McDonald’s in the Russian city of Nizhny Novgorod, CNN reports.

A group of about six men accosts the women. At one point, Nadezhda Tolokonnikov, one of the women, crouches down holding her face.

After staging a performance in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow, Tolokonnikova and Maria Alyokhina, the two women attacked at McDonald’s, along with Yakaterina Samutsevich were arrested and convicted of “hooliganism” before being sentenced to two years in prison. They were freed early in December before the Sochi Winter Olympics.

At Sochi, the women again protested against Putin and were whipped by Cossacks.
