Malaysian prime minister Najib Razar announced today at a press conference that the government believes ”all lives are lost” on Malaysia Airlines Flight 370.
Prior to the PM’s press conference, families of the passengers received a text message from the airline saying: “We have to assume beyond any reasonable doubt that MH370 has been lost and that none of those on board survived.”
The plane has not been exactly located, but satellite data and research by British accident investigators shows the plane crashed in the southern Indian Ocean, thousands of miles south of where contact was lost.
“This is a remote location, far from any possible landing site,” said PM Razar. “It is therefore with deep sadness and regret that I must inform you that according to this new data Flight MH370 ended in the southern Indian Ocean.”
